PROXIMITY ALARMS

About Proximity EAR systems:

Due to a large demand from those in our community, Community E.A.R.S. currently offers a proximity system for those persons in our community with acquired or developmental disabilities which may involve memory impairment or wandering behavior concerns such as Alzheimer's disease, brain injury, Autism, or profound Mental Retardation.**

* This system is self contained and does not require a monthly monitoring service. It includes an automatic dialer which can automatically notifiy friends neighbors or loved ones in the event of an emergency.

* A sensor button is fitted to the individual by a hospital grade bracelet which can be worn around the wrist or ankle, and can only be removed by a sharp scissor or blade.

* Never worry again about not being able to escape your home during a fire or emergency. Those iron security doors are not needed with the proximity alert system.

* No need to be locked inside the home or worry about calling the authorities to find a loved one who has wandered off. This system is able to help locate an individual up to one mile away and provides an immediate alarm when the individual leaves the predesignated area.

* This system has demonstrated reliability. It was originally developed for, and is still in use by the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard.

** This system may be available to persons receiving services from community programs affiliated with the Department of Elder Affairs, The Department of Health or the Department of Children & Families. Contact your Case Manager, Consultant or Support Coordinator for additional information.
